Hi, my name is Cindy Earley-Steinke. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I became a doula because I've been teaching Bradley Method childbirth classes since 1996, but I've only been able to assist at births in the last few years now that most of my children are a bit older. I'm passionate about all things related to birth and breastfeeding, and it is an honor to be a part of the process. I now teach Brio Birth childbirth classes, and I one day hope to become a midwife! I joined this website because I think it is important for birth professionals to network, and I've seen a need in the community for resource listings. The best word to describe me is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. I've been married to my husband Keith since 1992. We moved to Alaska from Virginia in 1998, and we have six wonderful children: Celeste (1994), Corinne (1996), Fielding (1999), Claudia (2002), Scarlett (2007), and Octavia (2010). We also have 3 cats, 2 mice, and a cockatiel. Our oldest was born in a hospital with a Certified Nurse Midwife in attendance, and all of our other children have been unassisted home births, except for our last which was a midwife attended home birth. I have been a doula for hospital, birth center, and home births. I am comfortable supporting women in any type of setting with any type of attendant.
