Hi! My name is [Jerrina Reed-Van Wormer]! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I became a Doula because: I wanted to jump hands on into helping families receive the emotional support I feel is needed to create the birth they envision. I realized I was passionate about family care after my daughter was born and felt becoming a Doula was the fastest way to get involved. I worked towards a certification thru DONA, but was unable to complete the birth requirements, I also went to massage school to add massage services into my Doula care and now practice as a part time massage therapist inside One Family Birth Center in Anchorage. I joined this website because: I feel networking is very important and that Anchorage is need in of a strong support network for the families in our community. The best word to describe me is:Nurturing My Family: I have a 8 yr old daughter, and a 5 yr old son.
